Who is the electric company in Madison, AL?
Answer: Your electric provider is Huntsville Utilities. If your new home is on the Limestone County side of Madison, your provider is Athens-Limestone Utilities.
Madison County vs. Limestone County
This is one of the most important distinctions for Madison residents.
- Madison County side: If your home is in the vast majority of Madison (which is in Madison County), your power company is Huntsville Utilities.
- Limestone County side: If your home is in the western part of Madison (e.g., in communities in the western part of the city) that falls within Limestone County, your power company is Athens-Limestone Utilities.
You will need to set up your account with the correct company based on your home's county.
